Why Don’t More Americans Have Life Insurance?

Only 52% of Americans have life insurance; that is an incredibly sad statistic. What are the given reasons? Buying life insurance protects your spouse and children from the potentially devastating financial losses that could result if something happened to you. It provides financial security, helps to pay off debts, helps to pay living expenses, and helps to pay any medical or final expenses.

For many Americans, the opportunity to purchase life insurance is just remarkably low. Many folks just never encounter an agent and are just not educated on its value. Also, most insurance agents do not cold call anymore, and with the advent of cell phones, it is just difficult to reach people.

Many employees have a unique opportunity to enroll in life insurance through open enrollment with their employer or being a new hire. Otherwise, these folks may never have another opportunity to hear and learn what security life insurance can provide for them and their family. Enrollment with a Steele Benefits counselor provides the employee the unique opportunity to enroll in a life insurance policy that could not only replace income if their loved one passed away but also provide a cash value or long-term care benefit in some situations. Often the employee and their family members can enroll without any medical questions and NEVER take a physical exam! More likely than not the plan will be fully portable to the employee at the same rate of premium. As a Steele enroller, I am thrilled whenever I can offer this valuable benefit to an employee.
