What did you do before Steele? I was a school benefits coordinator for five years.
When and how did you get involved with Steele Benefits? The school where I worked had used Steele for our benefits administration, so I was familiar with the business. I had attended User Meetings and other Steele events and I loved them. I loved working with Melissa McAllister and Zach Steele.
How would you describe your role in one sentence? I support our customers so they can support their employees.
What are some big challenges you are facing right now? My challenge is the work-life balance. Sometimes I get a little work addicted.
Outside of work, what kind of hobbies do you have? I love to read (anything) and I love to garden.
If you had a warning label, what would yours say? Caution if hangry approach with snacks
What person would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? I would like to meet my third-grade teacher. I struggled in school, and she stepped in and took the time to help me through it.
What is the very first job you had (that is not on your resume) and what did you learn from the experience? In high school, I worked at Shares Inc. It is a workplace for disabled adults. It was a wonderful experience and I saw the world from a unique perspective.
What would you sing at Karaoke night? I usually sing Paradise by the Dashboard Lights by Meatloaf.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Anything pasta.
What is your favorite holiday? Christmas because I really enjoy giving gifts. I like finding the perfect gift and seeing the excitement on their face because I found the right gift.
What is the most unusual thing you have ever eaten? Octopus. When I was fifteen, I was in California visiting my uncle and he would encourage us to try new things.
