Steele Announces Virtual Enrollment Plans for Remainder of 2020

[INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, May 11, 2020]  Steele Benefit Services (Steele) is announcing that effective immediately all employee benefits enrollment will be virtual for the remainder of 2020.  Virtual enrollment methods include employee self service, web co-browsing meetings with employees, and use of the Steele call center.

Every year since 2000, helping employees enroll in benefits on-site at employers has been a signature service that Steele provides to employers.  In the opinion of Steele, this decision will eventually be followed by other brokerage firms, enrollment companies, and insurance carriers.

“The more we looked at it, the more this move made sense,” said CEO Wes Steele “not only do we have to think about the health of our own team, we have to pay attention to what makes sense for our customers.” 

According to Steele, sending enrollers on-site could pose a risk to the business operations at Steele customers.  Steele does not want to put production lines, classroom health, or worker health at risk just for the sake of having in person employee benefits meetings.

“This doesn’t mean we can’t effectively engage employees,” said Director of Customer Success Michael Blink “we have been enrolling tens of thousands of employees from our call center since 2011.  This is just a natural and timely extension of a service that we’re already providing to many of our customers.”

In addition to call center, Steele Benefit Services plans to use virtual tools for employee engagement such as Zoom meetings, text messaging campaigns, e-mail campaigns, benefits quizzes, and employee surveys to help customers engage their workforces.  

Steele provides benefits engagement, enrollment, and administration services to employers with 250 to 20,000 employees.  The company offers technology, communication, and engagement services that help employees and their families understand and appreciate the benefits offered by their employers.
